Our goal is to make your purchasing experience easy, efficient and equitable, so we can get you on your way as easy as possible. The following purchase policies are designed to ensure your satisfaction and understanding of the purchase process on www.sbsny.org. If you have any questions about the information below, please contact us. This Purchase Policy is subject to, and incorporates by this reference, the Terms of Use, and our Privacy Policy. Each membership, donation or event ticket that you purchase is a revocable and is subject to these terms.
Membership and Donations:
Membership and donations to the Swiss Benevolent Society of New York are not mandatory, but are strongly encouraged—we rely entirely on your support, and as a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, any membership or donation payment you make is fully tax deductible to the extent of the law. An active membership term is one year. Your annual membership entitles you to enjoy exclusive member-only events (frequently at-cost or free) and reduced admission to most events. If you pay for a membership or donation on-line and later reconsider, you must contact us for a refund no later than 30 days of purchase. Any refunds for membership and donations will be issued in the same payment manner they were made. When a refund is issued, you may no longer provide the IRS with your tax deductible receipt..
Event Tickets:
Tickets to Swiss Benevolent Society of New York (SBS) events may be purchased on-line, by mail (payment with check), and only when indicated, at the door of the event. If you have made an event purchase and have an active member or donor account, your tickets may be eligible for membership discounts, depending on the event venue. Only SBS Members and donors will avail of this special membership pricing, unless explicitly indicated. Non-members and guest of members and donors will be charged full price, or as explicitly indicated on the event signup page. Some events are not available to non-members nor the guest of members. Please be aware that SBS event ticket purchases are considered as final sale and are non-refundable. There are no exceptions to this policy. Children and minors attending our events must be accompanied by and adult. Proper attire is required for certain events.
Silent Auction and Raffle Tickets:
The Swiss Benevolent Society of New York holds their Annual Silent Auction at the Swiss Ball. Attendees are encouraged to bid on items within their means, and winning bidders are expected to pay at the event and carry the items at their cost or means from the event location. In the case where a wining bidder cannot pay at the event, they may be allowed at the discretion of the SBS to arrange a payment within 5 business days. Wining bidders that cannot be contacted or do not come forward to claim and/or pay their prizes, agree to forfeit the prize to the next highest bidder. Wining bidders that accept claim of, and/or take their item automatically enter into a legally binding payment agreement. Payments for Silent Auction prizes and Raffle Tickets can not be made through the website. Any payments made for prizes and raffle tickets are non-refundable.
Tangibles Items:
Tangible items, including but not limited to t-shirts and other clothing and accessories, water bottles and other carry or tangible items, may be sold on-line or at the event. If you are not satisfied with the item, and the item is still in "unused" or "new" condition, we may issue a refund or replacement at our discretion. You must contact us in order to process the return within 7 days of purchase.
Cancellations, Returns, Credits or Refunds:
Your requests for cancellations and returns for credits or refunds must abide by the above policies. Please allow up to one billing cycle for a credit, after your cancellation or return has been processed. We will notify when we have processed your credit or refund.
Shipping and Handling Fees:
In the event that an item needs to be shipped via postal mail or courier, shipping and handling may be added to any tangible, either purchased or free, raffle and/or prize winnings. These fees are at cost. Please note that all shipping and handling fees are non-refundable once the items have shipped.
Pricing, Errors and Omissions:
If you have made a mistake during your purchase, please let us know as soon as possible so that we may adjust it. At the same time, if we notice a mistake we made, in error or by omission, we will let you know, and will make adjustments accordingly.
Other Fees:
By using this site, you (the Customer), agree and acknowledge that by purchasing any product or service from this site or the Swiss Benevolent Society of New York, Customer shall be solely responsible for and shall bear (and/or reimburse) any payment refunds, including but not limited to insufficient or returned check fees. In the event that the Customer has won a prize and a payment reversal is made for any portion of their played raffle tickets, the Customer agrees to return the prize, in new and unused condition, or agrees to unconditionally reimburse the SBS for the retail value of the prize.
Claims and disputes:
All claims and disputes must be sent to us in writing, fax, or via email, within 30 days of purchase. When sending an email or fax, please contact us to confirm delivery.
